159 Model Year Identification

Wikipedia states that "For model year 2008 the mechanics and interiors of the 159 were further developed. ... All model variants are equipped with Alfa's electronic "Q2" limited slip differential. As a result of newly introduced aluminium components, a 45 kilograms (99 lb) weight reduction has been achieved."

How can one identify a 2008 model year car from an earlier version? Would it be the vehicle weight on the V5?

The '2008' model appeared in the middle of 2008, it can be identified by the lack of a mono button on the aircon and the presence of a push button badge boot release.

The seats are also different ( worse!) but you have to know a bit about them to identify that.

Also the front brake calipers have Alfa Romeo on them. A car registered 08 or later is no guarantee that is is a 08 MY.
