Is there any way to stop a 159 auto-upshifting in semi auto mode?
Hi, I have a 159 3.2 Q4. My wife insisted on the semi-auto box and I don't mind too much in general as it's not the only car I have, but if possible, I would like to improve my lot.
The two main gripes I have apart from slow shift times are:
1. auto upchanges - the car automatically upchanges when it hits (or approaches) the redline. I hate this, as it almost negates the point of having a semi-auto mode. I wish it would only upshift when I tell it to.
2. Even worse is that if you really floor it in a low gear, it will often skip (or more or less skip) an entire gear when it upshifts, e.g. going directly from max revs in second to low revs in fourth gear (almost imperceptibly passing through third).
I can understand the rationale for the first of my gripes (even if I disagree with it) but quite why alfa would programme the car to recognise that you are "pressing on" and force you into "waft" mode I don't know.
If anyone knows of a setting or cheat or remap or anything that can solve either of these problems I would be most grateful to hear of it, thanks.
