Should I reset the ECU after having a new MAF fitted

Hi There, my garage told me I was getting an MAF fault code so order and just fitted a new one, should I reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for a period of time or is it not necessary....

It's not strictly necessary (the ECU will re-adapt), but it's probably a wise thing to do.
