Any news? Are parts readily available?
I could have replied to this sooner but it's taken me 'til now to calm down enough to remove the expletives from my comments,
I spoke to the service manager at Western yesterday (I called him as I, and Warrantywise, hadn't heard anything since the middle of last week,
) and they haven't even ordered the parts yet - they've sent a list of what's needed to ARUK but are waiting for a decision on whether or not a goodwill contribution will be forthcoming after all before commencing the repair,
I want my car back NOW!!!!! I've managed up to now sharing the G with my good lady as our shift times have facilitated that, but from the end of this week I change on to a different shift pattern which overlaps hers so car-sharing is no longer an option. I asked the dealer about a 'loaner' but that met with a stony silence. Looks like I'll now need to hire a car if I want to keep my job - Warrantywise are being very good about this and have said that they'll cover the cost of this,
, even although they don't (and shouldn't) have to.
The chances of my next car bearing a serpent are diminishing rapidly - I love the cars but the aftersales service is abysmal. If you add up the days off the road (excluding those for routine maintenance) for things like the rubbish paintwork it had when new, followed by the recurring turbo-surge problems, then last year's turbo blow-up and finally this latest episode, out of the 1530 days I've owned it to date it's been unavailable for use for 131 of them,
. The same exercise totalling up the VOR time of every car I've owned previously in my 40 years of driving doesn't come close to that figure - I don't have it to the exact day but it's somewhere in the region of 20 or so,
