Fuel Filter / Fuel Pipes Resonating
I think this got lost in an old thread with no success, so I'll try a new thread.
Last year I started to get a buzzing/humming/resonating noise from behind the dashboard. It transpired to be vibration from the Fuel pipes joining the Fuel Filter. I managed to fix it with a cable tie holding the two fuel lines together.
This year the noise has returned and it's constant, everytime the car gets up to temp, it's driving me insane. Nothing I try fixes it. Tried foam between the fuel filter and bulkhead, but that does nothing. It seems as if I can change the noise but not make it stop
Just thinking about it when the noise started occuring............I had the Fuel Filter go (diesel spraying everywhere). I called the AA and he was able to source a new Fuel Filter and fit it. Not sure where he sourced the part from and I don't think it's the same OEM part.
But the noise definitely started after the new filter was fitted. I'm thinking maybe if I get an OEM Fuel Filter fitted then that might cure the problem? Or maybe it's the pipes that need changing?
If anyone has found a permanent fix then please share, I'd be eternally grateful. I've just had the car valeted and it looks amazing, yet the experience is spoilt by this ridiculous noise.
I'm on a family trip to the seaside this weekend so I'd dearly love to get it cured or we will all be listening to the awful drone all weekend every where we go.
If no luck on this forum then I think I'll call mangoletsi and see if they are aware of a fix.
Any advice is welcome.
