I've been Powerflexed!
I bought this Brera at the end of December and I've been gradually making this two-previous-owners car mine. New battery, new rear drop link, clutch switch, fixed the cruise control, added larger rims and new tyres, even though the old tyres still had plenty of life on them.
After reading the rave reviews about Autolusso's Powerflex modification, I decided to take the plunge (last Tuesday). I have complained since buying the Brera that I've driven hired Mondeo's and Focus's that handled better. The steering felt wooly and I experienced noticeable oversteer. No more.
We drove from London to Leominster this weekend to visit family. I chose the A44, because I've been on this road with a bike from Leominster to Aberystwyth and it's a blinder. Well, it was before all the speed cameras. Anyway, I knew it would be a test for the modification.
Passed with flying colours! Confidence inspiring to say the least, and the oversteer has disappeared. It just goes were you point it. Brilliant! The new tyres help, I'm sure. But I have to say it was money well spent.
The downside: my wife kept telling me to slow down. Also, although I was keeping the revs up, my fuel mileage was 23 mpg for the tank, not the lowest I've seen. £95 to fill up is still a shock, though.
It was a pleasure dealing with Autolusso, too. I asked about Bilstein shocks, but said I didn't want to lower the car. I would have just put the B6's on, but Ned said hold on until he gets some new springs made. So, that will be my next (and probably my last) upgrade.
