159 3.2 JTS slow to start up

I have recently purchased a 3.2 JTS 159 (58 plate, 40k miles) and it seems reluctant to start from time to time, mainly on cold mornings. It's turning over fine but take a few seconds before it actually starts up.

This morning, after a slow start and while I was pulling away, the engine management light flashed on briefly and the car juddered slightly while accelerating. This only lasted a few seconds and then everything was fine.

Is there anything that I can do to help the engine for cold mornings?

I'd start by checking the plugs and see if unplugging the MAF makes it start / run any better

Mines always been tempremental after a cold start. For around 30 seconds the idle is lumpy, and very ocassionally the managment light flashes. It's done this since new. It's fine after that. I put it down to a poor cold start map, but I'm no expert. I believe it is a characteristic of the V6 engine.

They are all lumpy after cold start and run like crap for 1/2 minute of so. Never seem EML though?

Mine has always had a very high idle for 30-60 secs after cold start. Usually up around 1200-1500rpm. Uneven acceleration on throttle input too. Makes for sketchy carpark navigation as the car wants to accelerate away with no throttle input and so I need to keep riding the brake. Engaging the clutch during this phase causes a rev surge sometimes up over 2500rpm! Always settles down to normal after a minute or so.
Obi Bri have you tried an ECU reset?
