update on Brera engine light problems etc.
a while back I reported a few repeats of engine warning lights cutting in and causing the turbo to all but shutdown etc.
Well Northgate Alfa in Canterbury had told me that it was a problem with an inlet valve on the exhaust manifold and they ordered a new manifold when the problem recurred for the 3rd time (2nd time for them). I left the car with them when I went on holiday and asked them to look at my squeeling brakes and wind noise from the drivers door too.
I've had it back a week and ... full marks. The engine light has not recurred (early days yet admittedly) but most notably, they took the brakes apart and cleaned them up, no more squeeling and they adjusted the glass in the window and the excessive wind noise appears to have vanished! Hooray.
The wind noise issue is most interesting, it sounds as if it is a common complaint as it is today with the amount the glass drops when you open the door. They can modify this, presumably to raise it that little bit further, and give a tighter seal.
A good result so far.
