(Sorry in advance for making a short story long)
I've been reading this site since the purchase of my Brera in late December. After a couple immediate fixes (cruise control, clutch switch, drop link, new battery) the car has been running great. It only has 25K miles on it.
What can I say: I'm in love with my car (queue Queen).
Even though the car is running fine, I am convinced that I need:
18" rims (Wolfrace Eurosport Assassin-X) with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrical 2 tyres (for mileage); Nokian winter tyres (to fill up the old rims); AutoLusso's PowerFlex bushes and the B12 upgraded suspension (to improve the skittish-in-the-corners ride) and powder-coated calipers (for looks) with steel braided brake lines (to, hopefully, remove the sponginess).
But first (and to the point) I am going to have a remap to try and improve the off-idle lag in acceleration and the fact that it absolutely runs out of puff at just over 4K rpm.
But, I don't want to pay £400 plus. So, tomorrow I'm going to drive to someone local. They offer £25 off if you drive in and they offer money back after 14 days, if you're not satisfied. £175. There is no rolling road or printout. I think they have a preset that they get from Quantum Tuning ( http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...um-tuning.html
). They still say it will take three hours.
In anticipation, I've put £82 worth of Shell V-Power+Nitro in the tank (also after reading about it here). I was going to clean my MAF sensor and bought a can of Halford's contact cleaner, but was thwarted by lack of a security Torx screwdriver.
Why am I posting? You kind people have just hours to warn me before my 9 am appointment.
I will, of course, be posting about my mini-adventure.
