Selling an Irish Brera in the UK
I'm looking for some advice please. I am originally from Ireland and bought a beautiful 2.2 Brera there in 2007. In 2010 I moved to Luxembourg and brought my car with me (it current has Luxembourg plates). The time has come for me to part with my Brera as I am buying a new car.
Obviously the market for a RHD car in Luxembourg and the surrounding countries is non existent so I am left with the option of selling the car in either Ireland or the UK. The motor tax in Ireland for pre 2008 cars is ridiculous (I think it would be around €1,000 p.a. for the Brera) so I don't think there would be much of a market for the car in Ireland, which leaves me with trying to sell it in the UK.
So here is my question, the Irish Brera's speedometer is in Kilometres per hour not miles per hour. Do you think that would put people off buying the car?
The car has only 62,000 km (38,500 miles) on the clock and has a most of the extras (I ordered it at the height of the Celtic Tiger era when we thought the good days would last forever!). I would be looking to price it relatively cheaply in order for a quick sale, say £5,000. Do you think anyone would buy it?
Thanks for any feedback.
