To rebuild or not, after my flood encounter?
So, after my recent encounter with flooding, it is very likely that my insurers are going to write off my pride and joy. They have estimated at £10,800 for a new engine and gearbox. To be honest, I don't think they spent much time examining the car, but thats just my hunch.
Anyway, a client of mine is a large accident repair centre, and they have very kindly offered to rebuild it, either sourcing second hand parts, or new parts. I really don't want to lose her, but at the same time, would I potentially be storing up other issues later down the line? The water, although quite high, didn't come into the cabin, but obviously electrics and muddy water don't mix too well.
My plan, was to keep her forever, so I'm not too worried about resale value (given it will have a cat c or d write-off tag)...
