Further to my issue, I spoke to my mechanic from my old city about how I recovered the re occurring fault by spraying throttle body cleaner and giving it so,e revs.
He advised to lubricate the top of the swirl flaps, as the throttle body cleaner will dry it out.
So I bought WD40 silicone lubricant as advised, and sprayed it over the swirl flaps for good measure, even though the issue didn't seem to be back.
First spray was whole the car was running. After that I decided to give it some revs, the engine seemed to miss a beat and then carried on like normal.
I stopped the engine them did the same wd40 application whilst the off.. Cranked the engine, and weirdly the car seemed to over rev on crank, and rattled a lot. 1 second later revs fine and no shuttering.
I did the application once more while off and same thing. Took it for a drive and no issues it seems.
Was I wrong to use wd40 on that area? And if so, how can I clean that area, as after targeting that area I was able to clear the fault last time it came. Thanks
