Re: 159 selespeed and Petrol rating
I'm waiting for the 159 selespeed myself. Had the 156 2002 facelift model selespeed a few years ago, and it was significantly upgraded then as compared to the first 2 generations with pushbuttons on the wheel. Optimal combination of the ultimate sporty drive - shifting in and out of every curve without removing your hands from the wheel - and convenience - when you're folowing traffic - the car shifts on it's own quite well.
This time around, there's 6 speeds instead of 5, so it's definetly upgraded - but I don't know the details yet.
On fuel: I don't know speciffics on the Alfa 159 engine, but i Europe as I understand it - every new car should be able to run on 92 or 93 RON gasoline. Alfa specifies 98 in order to reach the full power from the engine. RON 97 can't possibly make much of a difference - it's probably within the natural variance limits for RON 98.
Have you been able to place an order yet? The selespeed model was to be shown in public for the first time at the current Paris motor show - but I have yet to se the formal introduction press release. I'm eagerly waiting for the factory to open for orders within a couple of weeks...
Currently in a 159 2.2 SW
