What more clarification do you want? If the filter has been removed it should fail
This has nothing to do with petrol cats but same goes for them
As I have already said it is not illegal to remove cats or DPF it is illegal to use the vehicle on the road with them removed, it is up to the owner of the car to make an informed decision
If someone wants us to remove their cats or DPF we will but we will just make it clear we can't MOT the car, simple
Wooh Chill !
Only looking for clarification and understanding, as I have said and made abundantly clear.
Its something I or others may not have had to deal with in the past, for me be it Petrol or obviously Diesel. However it's something I now need to get into the finer detail of and understand, as this effects me personally hence all the questions. Sod everyone else !
Blame the engineer in me as its just the way I'm wired and why I concentrate on the fine detail and ask the sometimes awkward and probing questions.
In my eyes it does have similarities with Petrol CAT's as the wording of both legislations is very similar. Which is why I asked the opinions in the other section of this forum. This would then give us the true understanding and finding of the introduction and enforcement on the new changes at that time.
Then by consolidating information given from the other section of the forums I asked which have gone through the same kind of legislation changes and have now been in place for many years I could get a true picture of the interpretation and implementation of the legislation. This could then be extrapolated in to true indication of the change in procedure and the effect over time.
The gathered information could then for example show the test started off stupidly strict and over cautious, failing anything and everything in question at the beginning due to poor clarification and understanding of the legislation. Then a couple of months down the line it all calms down and no one really cares as long as it passes emissions which appears to be where we are now with the de catting of petrol cars.
