Mel - yes, I need glasses for driving and seeing a long way away - although that long way away does seem to be getting shorter each year....
I knew you
would like the interior!!
Hans - I will try and get some good pics for you, but I need to get to somewhere scenic and it's going to be a real struggle having to drive round the countryside looking for somewhere....
Sean - I'll certainly pop down and show it to Wyn, but I'm hoping I won't need his services just yet!!
Jess - the engine is the 2.4JTDm. I had the 150bhp 10 valve in my Sportwagon, so I'm used to JTDs, and this one goes very well indeed. It still feels very tight so I'm being gentle with it at the moment. The new 200bhp version doesn't feel quite as effortless as the 150 one somehow - a bit more laggy I think, but once everything is spinning it "gathers speed"
very nicely. It's got 400NM (295lb ft) of torque so it should do! Kerb weight is high though, but the trade off is how solid and well built everything feels, and the ride/handling balance is by far the best I've had in an Alfa. Definitely a Grand Tourer rather than a balls out road racer. Oh, and the brakes are fantastic and that's definitely something I've never said about an Alfa before!
