I just got a set of Nokian WR A3 fitted, 245 40 19. Not picked the car up yet (it's had a sneaky Autolusso/Powerflex thingy done), collect tomorrow. Main reason i got them was cos I thought why not?. It's only the original outlay that's a bit of a bugger and the fact i'll be buying another summer set in April/May. After I'd ordered them back in December, I felt a bit of a dick, in that it rarely snows around here. However, keeping an eye on the temperature while I've been driving, it is extremely often that the temp is below 8 degrees, which leads me on to the other reason I'm glad I've bought them- comfort. My GT is a really good ride during summer on the Michellin PS3, nowhere near as good in the cooler temps, probably right thru to the bushes, but I put a lot of it down to the rubber hardening up on the tyres.
So I'm hoping the Nokians throw some comfort into the mix, give a bit more grip, chuck more water out the back than a burst fire hydrant and look as fat as the rear tyres off a 1984 911 Turbo (v wide). If they don't, bottom line is they'll be better than summers.
I'll take this opportunity to mention I have a pair of Autosocks (for if it snows!), size 685, they'll fit 159/Brera 18" and 19" tyres. Never been opened £65 new, £40 posted from me, price goes up if it snows. If anyone wants to buy them, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
