have a short (set of) question(s) to you
since the warranty on my 3.2 JTS Q4 is gone, I would like to start a bit playing with tuning my car
have read that remapping is relatively easy to be done nowadays via OBDII interface, correct?
it seams that there are some specialized shops doing this for you.
first question would be, after remapping petrol engine, would this be visible during TÜV (MOT) somehow? here in Germany there is a new rule doing the TÜV that for cars newer than 2006 they just plug in controller to OBDII and see if everything is OK. can they see instantly that EEC program is changed?
second question would be recommendation of the program to be used, Win7, MacOS or for iPad. saw that great SCT iTSX set (SCT iTSX lets you tune your car from your iPad (video)
) that seems to be quite easy for usage. any experiences? would it give opportunity to get deeper in fine tuning the program?
third, regarding the remap programs itself, in which file format are they written? which language? can the original program be read from the car? .... please be as details as possible.
fourth, am specially interested in modifying my exhaust on V6 engine using Autodelta's manifolds, but this would mean removal of the cats. would that be possible to be remapped in such manner that is not too obvious during check in TÜV (MOT)?
