The Brera I have is behaving very similarly, with the exception of the engine light coming on. Does log a fuel pressure error though. When I want to accelerate, upon reaching more or less specific engine revs, specific for each gear, I get the stuttering etc. I connected it up using MultiECUScan and when logging fuel pressure as calculated (what the car needs) and fuel pressure as measured (what the pump is actually giving), the calculated value shoots to 110bar, but when the measured/actual pressure reaches about 90bar the fuel pressure drops to 13bar.
This happened after I filled at a petrol station who's pumps were empty and I got the last and presumably BAD batch. Took the low pressure fuel pump out and found sand and small stones on the tank floor. The rest of the dirt is probably in the fuel filter there at the back. There have been a few incidences on the forum where the same has happened, coincidentally in Aus and here in RSA. Damn c r@p dirty juice.
It is just interesting that I don't get a engine management issue warning light. But the symptoms sound identical. Will be fitting new pump this weekend at the back, hopefully it sorts out the problem. If it the high pressure pump I may have to sell a kidney.
But yes best would be to firstly get MultiECUScan or a similar app to check the errors on the ECU. Go from there.
