I'm not doing it for the MPG though. I get about 45mpg on that run in my Fabia, 30mpg in the Ocatvia. I dont care if I get 30mpg in the 159, I just prefer the nice dollop of torque and lazy drive of a diesel. Even with the Turbo the Octavia needs winding up to shift, I cant be bothered half the time. From what I've read the 159 is a bit lardy, not sure a 2.2 would cut it for me. I'll take one for a spin and see what it goes like.

Is it not viable/possible to check the DPF via the laptop and take the long way home when needed? I could happily go for a spank every week, warm up through town then down the dual carriageway 70mph in 2nd lol. The looks are the biggest draw if I'm honest. A mate has a E90 320D, lush, goes well etc and I've always been a BM fan but there is something about the Alfa I'm drawn to. Same with the Octavia, I could get a nice MK2 vRS 2.0T but next to the Alfa they look very plain and boring tbh.
