I have had a knocking noise on the front left wheel for quite a while now, of which it has gotten progressively worse over the last 12 months. I have had people look at it and have not been able to find anything.
A quick search on this forum suggests that this is common and its the upper wishbone that needs replacing?
Also the front left wheel bearing has gone too, so looking to get this changed at the same time.
And also....my brake discs may need a change so might even do these!!
SO I am really after some advice as to where to buy the parts, what you would recommend, and roughly how much it should all cost me?
I am pretty handy and so is my Dad so we could potentially so some if not all of the work, however I know someone that could do it as I've heard without the right tools it could be a back braking job.
Then would i need to get the wheel alignment done after? At a guess probably...I had 4 new tyres and this done back in July and they were unable to get the front to line up properly, saying that it was nonadjustable and the camber was out, which would over time naturally cause inside edge wear. Has anyone else had this done before? Could this be linked to the wishbone problem?
Also which 4 wheel alignment machine is the best, the Hunter one or the one beginning with the B, or does this not matter for the Alfa??
Thanks in advance!!
