Also I wouldn't be fitting a new DPF - I'd be re-fitting the old one - which I'm gussing wouldn't be 0% glogged??

Grateful for your thoughts...

not sure I follow you on this one chap.

a remap is a reprogramming of the ECU done by a specialist and permanently alters parameters on the ECU to make the car produce more power.

Assuming you've had the ECU remapped it will always remain remapped unless you have to reflashed with the stock factory map. the most likely way this would have occurred is if you took it to a main dealer for a service and they added the latest version of the software at the same time - although this tends to be rare.

Interesting......Your specialist was probably acting more responsibly and not necc. talking themselves out of work.
To a degree, motor manufacturers spend millions on research, and build cars with certain components for a reason and not for a laugh.
Of course you can interfere with their components, but your dealer was reluctant to.
I could blank off the EGR on my transit, I don't though. (some do, some don't).

Hi Roscopico,

Done just under 20,000 miles since in a about a year. The only issue I've had since was a broken oil cooler - doubtful if the two are connected tbh. I do look after it as best I can though - no grand prix starts, and I don't plant the right foot below 2,500rpms.

From 30mph - 130mph (in Germany) it's quicker than my previous car (Vectra VXR). The economy is a lot better, plus it pulls so much better when cold - no Russian roulette moments pulling out of my road in the morning!
