engine management light on after EGR deleat
Hi All, I'm new here and in fact new to Alfa's as well. Being a petrol head for many years I decided it was time to get an Alfa.
Said car being a Alfa 159 2.4 (210bhp) sportwagon 2008
Its not running to well after a week of owning the car and I have started to look into the problems. I've cleaned the EGR, MAP and checked the glowplugs.
My problem is when the car is cold (cold start) its a pig to start and misfires badly for a few sec's. I blocked the EGR off with a piece of tin to see what effect it would have to the running of the car. in short no change to the problems but now I have a management light on the dash saying check engine. I've removed the tin but the management light remains on. How if any can I remove the light??
Also am I missing something in turms of the engine problems.
I'm looking to have some mapping work done shortly including the EGR delete but want to make sure I'm starting with a good base engine etc.
Any help would be great.
