Semi-Automatic - are there paddles ?

I'm a 916 Spider V6 owner (3 in fact, 1 of which is a spares car!).. but I'm looking for a newer 946 JTDM or V6 for commuting

I've seen cars advertised as Semi Automatic - can someone explain what this means?

Can you manually select gears? is this using the gear leaver or are there paddles or buttons near steering wheel

How rare is an automatic JTDM and V6 cars?

The semi auto gearbox is the Qtronic. Gear changes are automatic, but can be selected manually by either sliding the gear stick to the right and using it in sequential fashion or use the steering wheel paddles. If you find one you like and it doesn't have paddles, I wrote a guide on how to fit them

As for the gearbox, it's a great box and has proved very reliable
