Hi guys,

So recently I have heard a few new noises coming from passenger side wheel and the turbo!

Just really seeking advice on what they could be.

I'm pretty certain the noise coming from the passenger side wheel is a bearing, it's like a high pitched hum that will increase as I go faster and decrease as i got slower, pretty certain it's not the engine as I've free wheeled a bit and the noise was still there. It's only really noticeable at about 70, with the music turned down.

The second noise only happens once the car is warm! When I do a bit of Italian driving I can hear the waste gate(?) on the turbo when I change gear.. a bit like one of those POOOOWW dump valve sounds only not as pronounced. Most noticeable from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th after 3k rpm.

Don't think the turbo noise is a cause for concern (or at least i'm hoping not) but any thoughts on what it could be?

What you are hearing is excess boost going out through the air intake. Its quite normal. I make mine do it all the time in multi-storey car parks. sounds ace :)

Your wheel noise could be associated with tyre noise? Wheel bearings are generally low-pitched grumbling noises that don't go away at any speed and increase or decrease as you turn. Yours just might be a tyre resonance as the tread wears down. Try swapping wheels around.
What mileage do you have on the car ?

Thanks for the replies guys.

Thought it was something like that Jaba, but just wanted to be sure!

Thanks Mike for the input too, new tyres that are now only about a month old, so it may well be that!

Car is at approx 94k miles, had it from 86.5k
