Ehhhhhh....commercial vehicles are not exempt from this and run adblue as well on Euro IV and Euro V, rail is in too, as are many classes of shipping, in some cases even generators and plant have to comply too.
In fact due to low emissions zones, some Euro III vehicles are being retrofitted with DPF's.
In this regard, private cars actually get off quite easily.
The problem here is the short running, we recently added a few vehices to the lease fleet, the fleet company made us read and sign 2 pages of guff on diesels, basically that we arent allowed to use them in town or short running because it messes up the DPF and that the warranty doesnt cover this and we would be in breach of the lease terms.
The systems generally work very well, if the vehicle is used under high load.
Its the EGR that needs a bit more thought.
