I'm not surprised, think a lot of people have been searching for a decent solution to this for a while. Can't wait to see the prototype!

Has anyone successfully removed the keyblade without destroying the end?

Hi JabawokJayUK,
My button and the release mechanism is inside the silver bit! In my case the button is metal.

Mine is the same, the silver plastic bit which you can remove has some plastic gubbins inside, there is the release button and the plastic catches. How would those be removed and redone for the metal one?

Based on that explanation I can confirm that this bit will not change. This is the bit I refer to as the "key blade holder". The black plastic bit that holds both the metal key blade and the metal release button, and sprung mechanism. The only bit that this is going to replace is the silver/chromed plastic bit that wraps around it.

Make more sense?

Where it gets interesting now, is if we could get a better price for ordering more, could it be tempting enough for the 30+ of us who have just ordered one to up it to two?

Quantity will play a part in it, but they are still hand made so economies of scale don't deliver the same kind of yield that an automated manufacturing process would.

That said the more commitment we have, the more buying power we have.

Yes, its all just gathering interest at the minute, no actual orders till the prototype is made and you can all see it!
