In terms of payment, I will speak to him but my thoughts are to do it via ebay so that everyone is protected. He can create a listing and you can all just buy direct.

There is nothing in it for me other than a shiny new key which is all I wanted in the first place, and I'll have to buy mine like you will
Why bother giving eBay a slice of the action, buyers will still be protected via regular PayPal transactions.

I'm in for one but isn't 45 a bit much? I'd take two if they were <30/pc..

Good work JabawokJayUK!

btw my actual button is metal I believe (no peeling).

I'm just a broker in this deal so costs are not set by me. I have asked if there could be a discount based on volume and he has said he will look into it but depends on the success of the casting process.

Its not my skill set so I cant argue a price. All I know is a new key is circa 300 and this isn't.

He reckons he will have the prototype sorted in the new year so for now, the more byers we find the more leverage we have to negotiate cost.

Gents,

Aplogies - feel a right numpty. My button is indeed metal - I was looking at the dummy one on the other side. Sorry!!!!

I agree with Stansfield though - if we could do something like 2 for 60 as an incentive for people to order more and improve the production run numbers.

All good - all added

The more we have the more likely to leverage savings, so its worth the interest expression at this stage to see what we can do on numbers.

Bear in mind these are all hand made, so even though we are buying bulk, the guy still has to cast every one by hand. He is using an electroplating company somewhere for that bit of the process though so there is outside cost to him as well.

You might want to consider one of these once you have your new keys. I bought one 2 years ago when I got my 159 and it protects the key very well and becomes very supple after while. No need to do anymore than slide the fob back a bit when slotting the key into the dashboard either.

I think 45 a shot is quite reasonable for the process involved. Tooling alone for this type of thing is very valuable, and someone has to make some money out of it at the end of the day....

Also tried painting one of my keys, but wasn't a good solution. Hope there is no problem in sending to Denmark.

I would like 2 keys as well.
