Update - the lower rear bushes have been replaced with purple powerflex bushes, as of a week ago. I've been pleasantly surprised by the improvement in 'feel' - more positive steering/placement, less wandering/tramlining, and nominally a quieter ride - the latter a particular surprise. I also had the front discs and pads done, so no shimmy under brakes is very nice to have, too. Apparently, compared to vw/audi/bmw designs, the alfa suspension is a pig to work on, so the hours to do this part of the job were higher, cost me an extra $150. Still, I'm happy with the result. 2 x discs $275, 1 x pads (set) $165, 1 x bushes (set) $165, and $400 labour (total).
Just added 4 x Michelin Primacy 3 tyres with 4-wheel alignment. Hoping to get better tyre and fuel mileage now the suspension's not wandering all over the shop! For those interested: Front toe (out) 0.05 degree per side, Rear toe (in) 0.15 degree per side. Camber's on the high side 1.6 degrees, but that's 'cos it's lowered.
Car should be purring with all this attention! I'll add any updates as it all beds down.
