I think that what you're saying is "Put up or shut up", so here goes, all weights taken from the same source, Parkers. All are 4 door 2 litre diesels, so a fair comparison I think.
Alfa 159 1.9D 1490kg
BMW 320D 1420
Saab 9-3 1.9D 1500
Mercedes C Class Coupe 2.2D 1515
Ford Mondeo 2.0D 1557
So as I correctly said, the Alfa is heavier than a BMW 320D, but lighter than a Saab 9-3 and many other roughly comparable cars, any arguments?
Anyone still going to parrot that, "The 159 is so heavy!"
I haven't noticed anyone making the same criticism of that fleet favourite the Mondeo, which is the weight of a small adult heavier than the "Overweight" Alfa 159.
You really are having a bad day aren't you.
Strange how even Alfa put the 1.9 16v car at 1535Kg according to the owner manual, but hey Parkers know best. I don't have the manufactures specs for the SAAB or the Signum to hand and really can't be bothered to look them up just so you can have another rant.
Throwing weights of cars in that don't have the same engine is pointless.
Take a breath put your teddy back in the cot and offer something useful as opposed to arguing or championing the weight of a car you no longer own.
I know I'll regret this but
Parkers and Alfa state the 2.4 Brera weighs 1575kg and one weighed on here came in at 1656kg ( Alfa state in the owners manual weight with 90% fuel, fluids and no options )
and we know that car has lighter after market wheels on it but I assume it was weighed in the wrong way.
Once you get past the red mist you'll also notice in post 8 I said I was surprised by the weight of the Signum, but hey we'll ignore that just so you can have a rant.
