Advice for a 159 SW Towbar fitting
I'm a new member having just returned to the fold with a high mileage 159 SW 2.0 (108k on a 59 plate) that unfortunately is going to need a towbar. I'm not new to this having had a 156 2.4 SW for many years until it went bang...
I'm going to be towing a lightweight dinghy (roofrack not an option) and after reading the forums I have bought a Westfalia detachable, generic electrics kit and fitting from PF Jones. It'll be fitted next week by Darren at RD Auto Electrics. The guys who did my towbar on my FRV (southern towbar man) don't touch the 159!
What I would like is some advice on what I should ask for from the fitter, any customisations that may been needed and what sort of additional cash should be put his way to make them (don't mind paying for quality work). Also, any last min comments would be welcome.
I would like to hide the electrics and keep it very hidden, but I'm not going to be precious about it.
Once I've got that done it'll be back to Adi at AHM who did a great job on my 156 to see what I can do with this new beastie.
Nice to meet you all.
