the gear surround is easy, that just unclips. Undo the gear gater from ya nob (sorry!) and hook your fingers under the rear end (towards bk of car) of the surround, essentially tucking your fingers into the gear gater, then lif the back end up and backwards. Don't go bonkers as you will need to unclip the connectors for the buttons before lifting it free of ya nob.
The centre console again fairly straight forward. with the gear surround off you will expose two screws. Removing the stereo exposes a further two screws. The tricky part is the air vents. I mangled some coat hanger hooks to create something this shape: ¬ hooke a couple of those into each of the air vent, look it deep into the vent if you can, a gentle pull forward, don't tug, will unclip them. repeat x 3 and reveals more screws. Then just pull the console forward to unclip. Beware of multiple electrical connectors.
The dash drims, open the door and pull off, just unclip, the dash end plates, to reveal a screw on each trim piece end. simply remove screw and unclip.
The steering wheel is a fiddle and I've not managed mine as you have to remove the scarebag. to do this unbolt the (I think) 4 screws from the bottom of the steer column surround and remove. With the steering wheel at 90 degrees to straight ahead you can insert a screw driver down a hole in the back of the wheel (flat point) up to the airbag. This far I have got but never managed to unclip - by all accounts its a faf and requires multiple attempts and patience. turning the screwdriver 90 deg will press on the clip holding the bag in you can lift that side of the airbag out. you will need to turn the wheel 180 deg and unclip the other side.
I would say disconnect he battery whilst doing this, otherwise you'll keep pressing the horn!!
The only bit I haven't done is the door car pieces. I am told these don't remove, however I find this hard to believe and still think they do, but I've not taken the door card off (which I think is necessary) to try this.
