Man you get through some cars, alfas and fiats
Lol, thanks... guess I'm not the only Stilo driver to want a 159 then
life is short...
Does the 159 your looking at have a dpf?
I beleive the tuning boxes could possibly overload the dpf as your basically injecting more fuel for same air = rich = more soot.
Yes, and yes, the tuning boxes seem a terrible idea to me; hence the thread to find out whether anyone has tried them (but also, for the entertainment value).
Any local mappers near you , like the man and a laptop jobbies ?
No. At least, not for FIAT/Alfa Romeo. Integra, Skyline, RX8, etc. would be no problem.
If like me your behind the times computer wise diy mapping will take a long time to understand with help nevermind without.
You can get likes of mpps that you can read your std map and send to a pro who can send back a modded file and you load up(your all alone if something goes wrong like bricked ecu)
Not sure on big guys like alfatune or ahm would do it, i have seen offers of posting modded ecu out to oz i think.
It would probably turn out that way for me too. My university qualification was electronics engineering and I chose to study microcontrollers and FPGAs (field-programmable gate arrays). But I don't actually do any of it. Due to the low pay and scarcity of engineering positions, I work in teaching people how to use spreadsheets for financial modelling, and due to poor cashflow in the training sector, I also work as a parts warehouse person for FIAT/Alfa parts (independent specialist). Lots of money in parts, as you can probably guess...
Any option may push oe clutch to limit at 120,000.
The car I'm considering is an auto (Qtronic). Not expecting huge performance, just want the best economy and performance possible.
