Well it interesting. The Alfa I loved. Nice gearbox, heavy steering and pretty decent on the road. After a DPF. Removal tie was brilliant and went very well.
Now the jag - hard to compare as very different but worlds apart. The jag has so much more going for it in terms of luxury and gadgets, smoother ride and fantastic on long journeys or at speed,
The negatives are its heavy and a bit "boaty". Its a luxury car and has high quality leather, keyless entry, rear cameras, heated and cooled seats, DAB, premium sound system, smoother ride and suspension, good power ( I got 3 litre S) , better build and fit on panels, 20 inch rims, more space, same fuel economy pretty much,
I think it would benefit from a DPf removal as well as a bit stodgy early on the accelerator unless in dynamic mode then better.
The jag is a much much nicer car BUT the Alfa is a great car and better as a drivers car if your taking tighter corners. The jag is auto (semi auto ) so its not the same as the manual,
The Alfa 159 I will always say is a great car and I paid 10k for mine with 30k miles and nealry 3 years later got 6.5 k as a trade in.
The jag cost more than double that with 30k on the clock so its a much more expensive car so not fair as a direct comparison but ill probably be back to an Alfa one day once they get a few new models out.
Wouldn't put anyone off an XF either just remember its a different type of car but a very nice one,
