Our 159 is a 2010, and it's the newer 2.0JTDM engine. Don't know if the software is different from the 1.9?
Alternatively, iIs your car second hand? Could the DPF have been drilled or deleted by the first owner, who didn't mention it as technically it's a mod which can invalidate your insurance (not that your insurer would ever notice)?
Final possibility; our Kuga, which also had the same close coupled style DPF as the 2.0JTDM, NEVER showed any signs of a regen - no warnings, no high fuel consumption, no smoke. But after a year or so, it gave a warning light (check oil, I think), and was taken into the dealers who said that it was over-full of oil due to diesel being dumped into the oil from failed DPF regen attempts. But the car never showed any symptoms of a regen.
Incidentally, our 2.0JTDM doesn't produce black smoke on regen - though as I said, it is the newer ccDPF design and we run Rhino additive, which amongst other things is a DPF cleaner.
