Brakes have problems?

Hi All,

so I've searched in the past and not done well but today I've found a couple of threads detailing brake problems!
And am not sure what to diagose mine as... the break cable problem sounds terrifyingly expensive!

I think my brakes get stuck sometimes as on occasion when I move off they sometimes release with a slight jarring feeling, thats not normal!
my 156 did this a couple times when left standing for a while

and sometimes I get feedback when I brake... never had this before, I took it to a local garage, stripped the wheels down and copper greased/refitted everything, the car felt better for a few months but now its back and feels worse.
my local indy isn't aware of brake issues on the 159...

so, whats the symptoms for the brake cable issue?
and what about binding brakes? what does it all mean?

Pads rusting to the discs when the car's been standing is perfectly normal in damp weather.

Lick Brake sticking

Most cars seem to have this problem after rain, or after washing the car and leaving it overnight.
Mine lets out a really loud crack from the rear when washed and not immediately driven, quite normal.
My neighbours freelancer was totally seized after he became ill, his wife washed it, left it on the drive for a fortnight and the AA had to come out with a big hammer to release the brakes.
Again, not unusual.
