225 tyre choice
I know it seems as though this question has been beaten to death but I couldn't find any up to date threads on the 225 50 17 98W/Y size fitted to Lusso spec models. I'm currently running P zero Rossos but in 94 load rating which were actually dealer fitted! The fronts are getting low so I am checking what replacement options are available and trying to find out what would suit me best. I am fairly happy with the Rosso's although I have no idea if things could be a whole lot better, or even a whole lot worse for that matter. They are very expensive and if you look at the tyrereviews website the poor scores make it difficult to justify the premium price for this tyre. My personal concerns with the Rossos are that they suffer from torque steer on occasion which is quite scary and something I would like to eliminate or reduce. I also find they can scrabble about a bit and and don't put the power down as well as I would like but I guess this could be down to the road conditions or just the narrow width of my wheels. I heard they need to be warmed up but seeing as I live in Scotland and generally do shortish journeys then perhaps the Rossos are a bad choice? I definitely would not like a tyre which offered less feedback than the Rossos as I find these a little on the vague side but this might be because of the 94 rather than 98 load rating. It's tempting to splash out and get 98 Rossos all round but if handling and feedback are the same as the 94 rating then that would be a big disappointment. I would think though that with the stiffer side wall of the 98, handling and feedback would be better; can anyone comment on this? I also came across the Vredestein Ultrac Centos which were very competitively priced- has anyone tried these and could let me know how they compare to Rossos?
