Tyres again!

Hello all,

Is anyone out there still intrested in receiving tyre wear data?
I've just replaced all 4 of mine with 39k on the clock, so I'm in a good position to provide it if needed.

I think we are all interested in genuine experiences of members in relation to our biggest consumable!!

Your views on what rubber you had (inc size and trim), daily drivability, pitfalls, and costs would be useful to us all.

Tyre wear like fuel consumption is very subjective. I need to replace the front tyres on my 159 at around 16k miles. The mileage that I have achieved might well be different to the next 159 owner. Make of tyres, driving habits, driving style and regular journey type all play a part. My 16K is as a result of hard acceleration out of roundabouts, a twisty regular commute on RainSport 2 tyres. Someone who accelerates quite gently, does most of their miles up and down a motorway and drives on Michelins (for example) may well get much better miles. I'd love to see a database, but all governing factors need to be considered to make the data of any value.

Someone said to me, "so whats so special about an Alfa Romeo then?" I told him, "If you have to ask, you wont understand".

Driving Brera S 2.2, wife drives 939 Spider 2.2 and there is a 1972 Spider 2000 S2 in the garage for fun days.

Agree, + smoothness of the tarmac can also make an enormous difference to wear rates

I got through 3 1/2 sets of front tyres on my 1.9JTDm in 38,000 miles.
Pirelli, Goodyear F1 and Michelin Primacy.
Fun whilst it lasted though

159 Ti

yep, they don't last 10k on the front of mine, it all down to driving style, which is not a subject I will entertain on a forum as we all have totally different ideas on this.
