Yes, never terminate it early if you can avoid, they only last 10 minutes, so try and keep moving, also a good idea to keep driving a further 5 minutes beyond it to cool everything down and keep the air moving!
If you don't let it complete, you may up with unburnt diesel in the exhaust and sump and it is likely to restart the regen the next time you drive it.
Thanks guys. Poxy thing. I really am beginning to hate diesels now
I've changed where I'm living and as such my journey to work now starts a regen within a few hundred yards of work every other day. I'm fed up with having to sit in the car park for 10 mins with the engine running waiting for it to complete.
I think mine tried one this morning on the way to work (first one since i've had it) 15 miles of dual carriageway and it did it as i was driving in to town, got stopped at the lights, stopped at level crossing, traffic, very frustrating.
I was 10 mins late already so i just had to stop it at work. Hopefully will be fine and it'll do it on the way home tonight.
Booked in with Gus next week, so hopefully this will be the first and last!
I think mine continued through town (only a couple of minutes) until i parked up. It was very rough and seemed like it was going to stall, but my EGR is on it's last legs. Can't help but think it defeats the whole point of it though.
Whilst i'm all for making things more environmentally friendly, these novelty emissions things just don't seem to have been thought through.
