What Mods have you done to your 159/ Brera

A bit of a longer term 'what have you done to your 159/ Brera today'
Question is how yours differs from OEM spec? Or are many of you leaving your beasties as they are. If you are looking at doing these, I've put what I did myself, and what I got the garage to do.

As for me:
  • LED sidelights
  • Fitted HIDS (and changed the beam pattern to avoid blinding)
  • Blanked EGR
  • DPF Cored (removal done by garage after exhaust nut jammed)
  • Fixitsan dongle (for the two above)
  • Leather (with red stitching!) gear and handbrake gaitors
  • Avic F-30BT (Upgraded to F-40BT) sat nav
  • Wiper mechanism Fix (if you have an unwiped triangle on your windscreen) (Auto Lusso)
  • bought Eibach Springs (to fit)
  • Oil catch can (to do)

159 1.9JTDM Ti and Giulietta 2.0 Veloce
ex: Punto 55s, Golf Mk5 1.4FSi, A3 (8P) Sportback 2.0TDi SE, A4 (B8) 2.0TDI S-Line, 306 HDI Meridian

Wizard stainless cat back system, Brembo Sport HP2000 pads, replacement brake hoses (braided) and APE Super Blue fluid.

Also went for a last a lifetime Pipercross foam replacement in box air filter element.

So, sounds great, stops brilliantly & is cheaper to service

what did you do to the lights to get the HIDs sorted? I like HID mods but would be interested to know what needs sorting with beam pattern before I do it to mine!

Nothing really.

There is a slider inside under the head light that is used to flatten the beam when travelling on the wrong side of the road. I just set it at "over seas" setting so it flattens the beam, job done.

Have a search on here there's loads of info.

Not a lot needs sorting, but prefer to avoid blinding other motorists! It really is a simple job, originally a lot of people were talking about MOT fails as they don't have washers, but no one on here has had an MOT failure due to them.

Short thread (with links to long threads!)
http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...-question.html

As for adjusting the beam patterns, (see p106-107 of the owners manual, there is a small metal lever under the bulb).

Standard pattern is set to \__ \__ (as you look at a wall in front from the drivers seat).

With the extra brightness you might want to change it to \__ __ (turn down drivers side lamp ) or __ __ (as is standard in Audi/ BMW for HIDS now).

Brera S

The list of fixes/mods to my old Brera was quite extensive. But not had to do as much to my S yet.

So only one so far:

Removed headlining and replaced with an SV headlining to expose the Skyview.

What we really need here is a sticky thread with most common mods, infact forget the thread, this whole site needs a How-To section where we can post up proper guides, common mods etc.

would make a whole lot more sense to me.

Totally agree, like the idea of a how to thread
I raised the issue here:

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...s-changes.html

there are currently two threads on wheel alignment (that seem to contradict each other), one on comparing fuel consumption for 2.4 only (36 pages!!?!?! really!).

Sorry.....Mods...
