there are loads of threads on this subject, use the search function for better ideas (I don't know enough about the petrols (which are rarer I believe) to be much help on that.
Also what kind of budget/ age are you looking at (the options changed a little over time).
For the 159 as a whole:
Cambelt, should be done more frequently than the book recomends (around 50k (miles should be ok) (diesels)
Front tyres, check the inner edges for tyre wear, get the tracking done, set to zero (i.e straight ahead)
Check the power steering fluid, it should be green, if red, change asap (will lead to steering rack failure).
Learn a bit about EGRs, DPFs, and MAPs, then give them a good clean (diesel specific)
Front bonnet, and front of rear wheel arches (stone chips)
front subframe, watch out for corrosion
And check along the edge of the bonnet for the driver side wiper hitting it, as part of the wiper mechanism can fail.
