M32 gearbox, 2.2jts hesitation and other woes
We read on the forum of problems with the M32 gearbox, of hesitation at low revs and timing chain stretch on the 2.2JTS and of course EGR problems on the diesel.
Now I'll be the first to admit that in the early days I did have EGR problems on our 159 later sorted. But the Spider shows no symptoms of hesitation when pulling away, which got me to wonder. In March 2008 the 159/Brerra and Spider had various production mods done. 4 pot Brembos at the front, and I believe weight saving mods to the suspension.
Question is, at this time were issues as described above also sorted? Does anyone with a post march 2008 (MY08) Spider, Brerra or 159 suffer any of these problems, or is it restricted to earlier models, would be interesting to know. We know the diesels suffer EGR/DPF and DMF problems so there is no point in listing those.
Someone said to me, "so whats so special about an Alfa Romeo then?" I told him, "If you have to ask, you wont understand".
Driving Brera S 2.2, wife drives 939 Spider 2.2 and there is a 1972 Spider 2000 S2 in the garage for fun days.
