This thread proved to be a hot topic, didn't it?
I was contemplating the same question, but have now sold myself on the idea. I'd like to buy this Ti... Alfa romeo 159 2.4 JTD 4D Ti 2009 | Trade Me
(please don't all rush to buy it
It is quite expensive (take that price and halve it to get English pounds) but it is a one-owner car and comes with all the equipment I'd want. I don't really have the money, but I hope I can work something out.
I always like it when there's a photo of the instrument panel showing the date, such as "Mon 29th April", which suggests this car has been on the market for rather a long time. I'm sure the car dealer would like to see it go to a good home.
I was thinking it would be nice to have a colour other than silver (such as, err, well, red), and I would have liked a beige interior, but it seems, for a Ti, one has to overlook those things. Actually I wasn't aware the Ti version came in silver... and it's light enough to nearly look white in the photos.
Oh, meanwhile - this was listed today - it's the first time I've seen a Selespeed 159 Sportwagon: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used...-632882071.htm
I like Selespeeds but I think the performance would be forever in the shadow of my super-economical 156 Selespeed (at least in my memories - hmmm, 185bhp vs. 150bhp) and it's probably time to try a diesel instead.
Here in NZ, diesel fuel is 30% cheaper than petrol, but you have to pay road user charges, so it ends up costing the same as petrol, but you use less. I calculate a saving of about $1000 a year compared to running my Stilo, so it will only take about fifteen years to pay for itself. Hmmmmmm
