How do you disconnect the parking brake?
The rear brakes are sticking on my 2006 Alfa 159 2.2 JTS. I have taken the the pads out of one side to clean everything up and to have a look at what is causing the problem. The calliper piston isn't going back in though so I need to take the calliper off to replace/change the seals. This means removing the parking brake. eLearn just says "disconnect the handbrake cable from the rear brake calliper and move it aside" but there is obviously a technique to it as I can't do it. What am I missing? Does something need undoing? There seems to be a little nut on the end, does this need to come off/be loosened or should it just unhook? I have tried undoing the nut but it doesn't seem to budge but I don't want to persist if I am doing the wrong thing.
