I have always been of the school of thought of NEVER cutting corners when it comes to tyres.
All my previous motors, I always ran premium tyres, mainly Michelin Pilot Sports. However when the time came for tyre replacements on my 159 Ti, the pricing difference between the Acceleras and the premiums was just too much to ignore! I mean a saving of £170-180 a corner is not to ignored regardless of your financial situation!
I have been monitoring ALL the previous threads and arguments of this long on going debate, and I quite literally thought "You know what ***** it, I will give them a try myself, its the only sure way to draw a proper conclusion". I fitted them approx. 4 month ago, and didn't have the highest expectations and I already had my mind set that if I didn't get on with them I would swap them instantly for premiums! I've now done circa 6000 miles on them, and really can not fault or complain about them at all. The only issue I have had with them is like others have stated, that they are not the best in the wet. Traction can break away quite easily if provoked and pushed in the wet, but I'm realistic, my 159 is not a track weapon, it is my every day motor, and so drive it accordingly. That being said, I do like my odd spirited blast, and have found them quite good in dry conditions! They are also wearing well and in all honesty by the looks of things will out last most premium brand tyres in the wear department, especially Pirellis!
In conclusion, I am glad I took the plunge and think they are a good honest tyre and value for money they are second to none! Would I buy them again? Yes I think I would! The only issue that does concern me is what others have mentioned the consistency in different batches. One set of tyres can vary between another set...I can not comment on this as it is my first set.
My two pence worth!
