159's for sale, I'm dissapointed
Owning an Alfa Romeo says something about you. It says you are not lead by the heard, it says you are an individual, you have taste, style. That you appreciate the good looks of the design of the car and want to be seen to be different.
I'm toying with the idea of chopping in my 159SW for a newer 159 saloon (maybe a 1750 TBI), so last night I took a look at the Alfa Romeo used car listings, and on Piston Heads and Auto Trader. It soon became apparent that about 80% of the 159's on offer are all black with black leather interior. How depressing, have these cars been bought by people with little imagination, who want to blend in with all the black BMW's and Audi's cluttering our roads? Where has the taste and imagination gone? OK, if you must have a black car, why didnt you chose the tan or red interior? Even with the few silver or grey offerings, still black interior. Uggggh! Looks like I'll stick with what I have.
Someone said to me, "so whats so special about an Alfa Romeo then?" I told him, "If you have to ask, you wont understand".
