My sister took delivery of her new 159 today, and what a car it is
2.2 Lusso, Dark Grey (I think its called Stromboli grey?) with 17 alloys (currently with 16 winter wheels) Stunning looking car
So i finally got a chance for a real ride in a 159, where i got to drive it myself.. It is VERY nice.. and that cabin lighting looks AMAZING at night.
The 2.2 Lusso in this country comes with (Genuine!) double exhausts.. one in each side mind you.. and the sound above 4000 Rpm is sublime! Very Alfa worthy! Compared to the stock single exhaust, this is must IMO.
Also the rear lights cluster looks fantastic in the Dark. gives off a very distinctive profile. Just wondering when Seat will copy this look too
As for the front lights, i must say they whole area around the front lights still looked very clean after the first 250 km of driving in semi wet conditions. So this gives hope for the owners not having to spend all day scrubbing that particular area. Perhaps the airflow around it helps keep it clean i dunno..
The door sides seemed to pick up a bit of dirt much like the 156 does. The rear also seems to be improved much over the 156, as this area was also very clean after the 250 km drive..
The steering above 50 km/h felt like something in between a 156 Twin spark and a V6.. Which is a good thing..The 156 TS steering is very sharp, and the V6 a bit too nose heavy. But they seemed to hit a good feeling on this 159 version. Overall its easy for a 156 owner to drive the car. It feels very much like "home" only like a better and never 156. It doesnt feel like a 166 in any way, which is a bit of a surprise.
sorry for the poor photo btw!
