bonnet wobble

Had my 159 for six months now and love it, although Iíve had some issues with the bonnet.

Initially it was very hard to shut and hen it was shut it wodbbled when at high speed, or going over rough tarmac. On one occasion I thought it was shut but it wasnít, which was a bit of a scare when I got the Ďbonnet opení warning on the motorway. So, following a good drenching in WD-40 itís now closing properly without any force and is nice and securely in place.

At the same time I adjusted the two rubber stops to try and stop the bonnet wobbling about. Itís improved, but it still seems to wobble a bit on the driverís side front corner, especially at high speed. The bonnet is definitely shut securely tight - I know because Iíve stopped plenty of times to check! The car hasn't had any accident damage, so it's not something sinister like a badly aligned bonnet after accident repair.

My question is, should I only have two rubber stops on the front beam or am I missing some? Iíll have another go at adjusting them, but it doesnít seem to make any difference.

Any thoughts or suggestions? It's driving me insane.

There are 4 stops/bumpers on the fwd panel between the front wings, the centre 2 by the badge are fixed but the outer 2 are adjustable to hold the bonnet securely....also the catch in the centre is adjustable if you look at it from the front you will see a bolt either side holding it in place just slacken them off and move the whole assembly downwards then re tighten that should pull the bonnet down tight and then you can adjust the side stops to suit....
I only know this cos I have just had a new bonnet and front bumper fitted and had to help the garage align the new bonnet correctly????
Best of luck hope this helps
