Alfa 159 - BOSE subwoofer not working

Hi there!

Something strange happened to my BOSE subwoofer on my 159 ti 2011, it suddenly gave up and stopped working. Someone else experience the same thing?

Ive been searching about the problem and there is something about a connector to the woofer from amp. Right?

All help appreciated, thanks!

Yes, that seems to be the most common issue.

BOSE subwoofer bad?

Hi NightInGale08!

I just bought a 159 TBi with the BOSE system and was so disappointed about the bass that I'm shure it is not working properly. The one I bought it from said it was OK, but that standard car-systems just didn't sound better :-(. Is this BOSE system so bad?

Or am I right after all, that the subwoofer isn't working?
How can I tell? Suggestions beside putting my ear to the sub in the rear window?

Hi. Sorry for reviving old topics, but my subwoofer also did not work in my new alfa 159 SW. Today I checked all wirings and all wires and connectors were OK, subwoofer was also okay. Bose for 159 has a subwoofer amp in another box under the big amp for everything else, and that mini amp for subwoofer has relay for supplying circuit when car is on. This relay caused a problem for me. It clicked but contacts are burn, so circuit didn't get +12V. Part number of relay is JSM1A-12V-5, but you can put almost everything in, make sure that is rated for 10A+. Its common relay used in automotive industry. I spent around 1 hour for disassembly, but I didn't check any drawings, so it should be less if you know how to disassemble bose sub/amp unit.
