Stone guard replacement

My stone guards on my spider have gone yellow and look a bit tatty replacements are very expensive but I was thinking of making some myself out of carbon look vinyle. Has any one replaced theirs and if so how would you remove the old ones?

I got new ones made up to my own design (bigger), cost 60 the pair including fitting and removal of old ones, from here:

Paint Protection Film: Car, Motorbike & Vehicle Paint Protective Film - Paintguard UK

You can remove them yourself by carefully peeling in conjunction with a hairdryer.

They can be peeled off quite easily, especially once yellow. White spirit will remove any glue left behind. I have the same problem & was thinking of fitting the film my kids cover their schoolbooks in. Like Petedox said, they need to be taller

Heat up with a hair dryer and peel slowly.

Or you could point pressure washer to it and it will come off, with laquer...

You can buy a roll of paint protection film on eBay for 10 and make your own. I oversized mine to cover the complete rear arch in width and made them 50% taller too.
