My rough idling, 1500rpm spluttering, air con kills it Alfa... Therapy required.
My 57 plate 2.4JTDM seems to have three issues which I'm now guessing are linked.
First of all it idles like it's on a pogo stick. When cold, it's not too bad , but when it gets up to temperature, it bounces between 750 and 950rpm and then feels like it's about to die until it gets a squirt of diesel and then it perks up and repeats...
Secondly, it occasionally splutters between 1300 and 1500 rpm on a very light throttle.
And then, thirdly, tonight it died. Rough idling and then it died. Started it up again, rough idling and then stopped. Worked out that it seems to die only when the AC is on. Turning off the AC causes it to just idle roughly.
So, are they linked? So far over the last two weeks I have cleaned the EGR, MAF and MAP sensors and performed a full oil change with new air and oil filters.
I know that idle air control valves can cause this issue with the air con when they are dodgy but does the JTDM have one? If so, where is it and can it be cleaned?
I'm waiting to get a replacement cable so I can run MultiECUscan but I know that one of my injector correction values was slightly out on cylinder one last time I checked. I have since been told that the injector might be masking the true problem.
Also, my mpg is shocking at the moment.
Help, any advice welcomed.
